Website photography

Todays (one of many) tasks is updating the Oran Park Physical Culture Clubs site with some new pics. Last night the club held its full dress rehearsal in preparation for upcoming competitions. A perfect time to grab some pics for their site.

I've been asked to be the photographer for Macarthur Physical Culture Clubs first interclub comp, being held next weekend (squeals with glee lol). I can't wait to not only jump into comp season but to capture some great images of these wonderful girls and ladies brave enough to strut their stuff on the floor.

Best of luck & see you there xx

Clearing the SD cards

Just like keeping the paper filing organised and up to date...I'm a little slack on clearing all those SD cards.

Found this shot I took at Port Arthur in 2014. Convict redbrick framing the sandstone structure that is 'The Church'. A foreboding skeleton that fills you with emotion as you enter its hollowness. I must admit I got a little bit choked up, as this had been a location I had longed to visit. To stand on these ground and take in all the history that it holds is definitely something I'll cherish.

Such a hauntingly stunning location!

Life has been all over the place this year. I've finally had some time process some stuff on the very long 'to do' list and have added more site pages to cover one of this years travels - 'Victoria'

Still some more to get through...so its a work in progress :)

Holiday snaps...when mum's a photographer!

This pic has some funny memories attached. On our recent trip around Victoria we spent a night at Port Fairy and on the list of things to do was to head out to the Griffiths Island Lighthouse. 'My' plan was to be there at sunset to get nice photos of the lighthouse. 'My kids' on the other hand saw sand and just wanted to play.

When you get to the carpark, there is no real clear signage as to the fastest way to the lighthouse. Sunset was approaching and we ended up taking the looooooooong way. Felt like the never ending adventure. I found myself walking fast paced (slightly running)...calves burning...looking frontwards and backwards...taking in as much scenery as possible whilst being mindful that I wanted to get to the lighthouse at sunset. My poor kids just wanted to play in the pristine sand and paddle in the water, yet here I was dragging them around an island. We made it 'the great Griffiths Island race'...that I ended up winning because my husband and kids gave up and played in a cute little beach.

I made it there by sunset...and what a sunset it was! It was great that the rest of the family eventually caught up and we took some time savouring the moment.

I was clearing out some older pics and came across this. Love the depth of field and the woody grain.

Totally forgot it existed as I've got folders and folders of photos. Need to have a clean out :)

Event photography

Yesterday I had the privilege of being the event photographer for one special young man's 1st birthday. I take my hat off to his beautiful mum, Rachael. Its no easy task entertaining and feeding around 90 guests, but she put together a fantastic day for all. Well done! Candy buffets galore, jumping castle, merry-go-round...food food and more food!

Thank you to the Sant family for allowing me to be a part of the celebrations for this special occasion.

Happy first birthday Milan!

Prison wall art

HM Prison Beechworth operated between 1864 and 2004. It cost 47,000 pounds to construct with granite quarried on site. It stands on the ground of Beechworths first stockade. Notable inmates - Ned Kelly, Joe Byrne, Steve Hart & Aaron Sherritt. There were eight executions in the gallows with the bodies said to be buried along the inside western wall.

Great place to visit to capture the rustic charm of old architecture and learn some great Australian history. Definitely visit the bakery...it was the best bakery I've ever been to (the bee stings are to die for)
