Theatre Arts Titles Eisteddfod 2019! Exhausting and AMAZING! wow...just WOW!
This two day event was jam packed with endless talent. I was wonderful to be there to capture it all.
Day One gallery will be available Friday the 7th June and Day Two will be ready Sunday the 9th.
Below is a snippet of whats to come!
Show Oz Productions were at their finest!
Always enjoy watching the young talent from the Macarthur region. Sing, dance act - they can do it all.
The birth of baby Mia Jayne has given us five generations on our maternal line. I am lucky enough to have experienced this for the third time over. When I was born in 1974, I was lucky enough to have a great great grandmother named Alma (1898-1982). Second time was when my daughter, Emily, was born in 1996. She had a great great grandmonther named Mavis (1917-2011).
This photo shows my grandmother (1940), my mother (1958), me (1974), my daughter (1996), and baby Mia (2018).
So very blessed xx
Another day another newborn shoot.
This big fella is Freddie Arthur. I can honestly say that I am falling deep in love with newborn shoots. They are absolute bliss to capture. Such angels of perfection. Can't wait to do more!
The first shoot for 2019 will probably be the best of all time.
Welcome to the world baby Mia Jayne! Our first grandbaby came on the 27th December. She did not look 8ld 1oz as she was skinny and rather petite. Mother and baby are doing very well. I'm so proud of my daughter and son in law, they have taken to the parent roll very well.
I'm sure my new muse will feature prominently from here on hehe.
Might have to add newborn photography to the repertoire...itching to do another baby shoot. They are so darn adorable and easy to work with. So much love!
Well that was a jam packed 2018!
Between the day job, teaching EP Physie to 9-12s, 13-16s & Ladies, driving around 300kms a week and caring for my fam...I had the absolute pleasure of capturing some wonderful events and people. With around 20 shoot sessions and 'I can't even fathom to count' images...it was a whirlwind year for sure.
Model Quest, Theatre Arts Titles, Camp Rock, High School Musical Jr, Cinderella, Harry Potter, Big things for Little Wings fleet launch, Dance Australia Magazine, EP State Finals, EP State Grand Finals, Camden Valley Physie Club comp, Macarthur Physie Club comp, Model and Dance shoots - Arabella, Tara, Ireland, Maeve, Sasha, Caitlin...YIKES!
So very blessed to be surrounded by amazing people who make my side gig possible. I look forward to many more adventures and hope to capture many more memories along the way.
Whilst its been a load of crazy hectic fun, now its time to sit back (collapse) and relax (comatose) with a whole month off work...yay! Then it will be full steam ahead for 2019! Dates are already booking up, so get in and save the date with me if you have an event happening.
EP State Grand Finals is the pinnacle of the physie year. Hours of dedication throughout the year lead to this wonderful display of the EP syllabus every November at Sydney Town Hall. There were many physie girls full of anxiety as they anticipated their time in the spotlight. The abundance of stress I felt was up there with them. Whilst its an absolutely amazing competition to watch, I unfortunately didn't get to share the full elation of the day. Don't get me wrong, I love to see the perfected positions, the tears of joy and hugs between physie friends and family...its just that, any technical issue that could have happened - happened! Brand new equipment failed to work! Grr! I frantically switched between cameras to try and capture the girls in all their beauty and became upset that I didn't get to capture all that I wanted to. Whilst no-one may have noticed and I'm probably outing my otherwise oblivious problem, I wanted to share my heartache.
One thing I know about 'physie girls', they are perfectionists. I know this too well, because I am one (and so is my daughter). I am disappointed that I missed the mark on my level of perfection, but glad that I managed to capture what I could with what I had. I'll bury my sadness with copious amounts of wine over the festive season and the upcoming joy of my first grandchild (due very very soon!) as well as enjoying a well earned rest after an extremely busy year and unbelievably frantic end of year.
A huge thank you to those who have purchased images and for your very kind words of appreciation. Glad you are happy with the photos of your beautiful physie girls. The gallery will be available until 31/12/2018. If anyone is looking for a particular girl and can't find them, please contact me via the contact tab and I'll check through everything for you. Also, the preview gallery has a download link for free images of State Finals held at Hurstville Civic Centre. This gallery will expire on 31/12/2018, so get in and save the memories.
Wishing you all a very merry and safe festive season and a happy physie new year!
'Little Wings is a not for profit children’s charity that provides free ongoing flight and ground transport to those children and families in need. We help in during one of the toughest times of their lives' - Little Wings
They held their launch party to showcase what they are all about and unveil the new additions to their fleet. The stories from a few families who have had the support from Little Wings is truly heartbreaking. You never know whats around the corner, so charities like Little Wings are an unbelievable blessing in those times of need.
If you are looking for the perfect Christmas gift, how about a donation to this worthy organisation - donate now!
Got to test out new glass at the Edith Parsons State Finals held at Hurstville Civic Centre.
Can honestly say it was a great purchase. Looking forward to capturing the top 12 in each age section at the State Grand Finals in a couple of weeks.
It was fun to photograph another physie code. Western Zone Physie is built on strength and astounding flexibility.
The girls put on a fantastic show of this years syllabus for their family and friends.
Big thank you to Miss Tahlia for having me as your photographer for the day xx
Spent a great spring afternoon with young talent. Models growing their portfolios with this fun shoot.
Thank you all for allowing me to be your photographer :) xx
The hottest competition for youth in the performing arts for the Macarthur region. A solid packed 2 days were spent photographing young talent...and boy there was LOTS of it.
Well done to all competitors. It was a pleasure watching you all perform your absolute best.
Gallery for image purchase expires end of August. Grab your snaps before they are gone.
Beyond happy with how the photos turned out for the Dance Australia Magazine shoot.
The spread looks quite cool.
Blessed to have opportunities to do what I love and see them in print.
Theatre Arts Titles presented their inaugural eisteddfod which included a Model Quest which was held at Camden Civic Centre. Adjudicated by Mikaela Bell and Clayton Carafino who had an array of great talent to judge. Participants attended a workshop prior to learn the ropes with ambassadors Scarlett Bowser and Brooke Murray. All competitors received a prize package and winners get to appear in Dance Australia Magazine and be represented by Bubblegum Casting for 12 months. A fun and entertaining evening to say the least. Well done to organisers for bringing a great event like this to the Macarthur region.
Tucked away in a little lane way in Hobart is a feast of colour, culture and creativity. Bidencopes Lane way in the CBD is home to the Vibrance festival. Over 20 street artists have fill the walls top to bottom. Great way to spend a rainy afternoon in the Apple Isle.
Road trip! A weeks adventuring with the hubby in Central West NSW, took us to so many places I can't count.
Using Bathurst as our base (hats off to Rydges at Mount Panorama - great place to stay), we took day trips out and about the country side. Soaking up some good ole Australiana. Playing tourist at your own pace...no work clock ticking, telling you what to and when to do it.
Autumn colours...cooler weather...hanging out with my bestie. Absolute bliss!
I've visited the Rail Museum a very long time ago, but I've never been to the festival of steam. It was such a great day, I might have to make it an annual pilgrimage. Fantastic market stalls offering treasures and delicacies to suit all taste buds. Even a flavoured schnapps from the Hunter Valley to pop away for later on ;)
Whilst at the festival of steam it only seems fitting to have a ride in a steam train. Last steam train I had been on was up at Zig Zag about 10 years ago (or even more). Surprising how many people were along the roadway recording the train huffing along the tracks.
Edith Parsons Physical Culture put together a troupe of girls to head over to Disneyland California as part of Dance Around the World. A fantastic fundraising night was put together, full of laughs and dollars. Hats off to all of the organisers and well wishes to all who are off on the EP Disney adventure. xx
Whilst away for a short break, we were surprised with news that our daughter got engaged!
Matt popped the question after a hike to the top of Mount Tomaree.
We welcome him to our family and wish them the all the best for a long and loving life together.
Let the wedding plans being!
Macarthur's rising stars sprung onto the stage in Show Oz's production of The Nutcracker. Directed and choreographed by the talented Nerilee Robinson, night one was perfectly performed!
I roped in my daughter to be assistant photographer to get some work under her belt considering she has made photography and digital media one of her year 9 electives. Below are a few of her shots of the performance. Might have to change my business name to Hume Photography :D
The girls at Show Oz perform so many different routines with so many costume changes they all don't get the chance for pics on performance night. So we spent some time at the studio getting some end of year shots of ones who were missed.
Was great to do a shoot with relaxed pace. They all got to enjoy their own spotlight.
Not only did I thoroughly love the display of talent Show Oz provided at their end of year concert. I got to shoot at a place I had not been to in a long time - Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.
The line of beauties to photograph seemed as endless as the applause.
Thank you yet again Show Oz for allowing me to be your photographer xxx
I was commissioned to do a sunset shoot for a lovely family out at Dargle. Now, lost is a word that comes to mind. I had absolutely no idea where this place was, but I knew I wanted to go.
In the grand scheme, its a water ski park on the Hawkesbury River out at Lower Portland. This family venture here every year for the past 20 odd and really wanted to capture this and bring it home so they could see it everyday.
Great spot indeed to sit back and watch days end!
Its great when you see that image in a custom metal print in its forever home.
Doing this type of work you are blessed to celebrate milestones with some lovely families.
This celebration was for Tori's 18th birthday party. Her family is just adorable!
Big thank you to the Mawby's for having me as their photographer for an amazing night.
